Treescapes by Kathleen Krucoff

This collection started with a stone, a dendritic opal, where tiny little dendrites formed a delicate tree shape. I could envision the design for the pendant I would make. That was a new experience for me as a fledgeling jewelry designer.

From that piece, the Treescape series has literally grown and evolved. Now I add leaf cut outs to the designs. Textures are added to create the impression of leaves. Whimsical spiral flourishes can be found at the base of some of the trees. Some have stones, others do not.

One of the many talents my father had was creating beautiful, natural landscapes with the trees and shrubs. I watched him as he worked and the care he took instilled a deep love of nature in me.

Now I feel as if I am a metal landscaper, following in his footsteps. I think he would love this collection and I hope it resonates with you.
