"Being creative has become a way of life. I wouldn’t feel like ‘me‘ if I wasn’t doing something creative every day.
I have always loved to draw, paint, and sketch. Horses were my favorite subjects when I was a youngster… now my focus has turned to mountains and other nature-scapes.
As an adult, I have explored a number of different mediums: paint, glass, and metal.
Lexi Erickson introduced me to Metalworking. She is my sister and one of my closest friends (next to my soul mate Dan). Lexi and Dan are true mentors in every aspect of the word. My artistic journey has taken me in new directions I never dreamed possible. Thanks to Lexi, I have been able to further my metalwork studies with her and one of her mentor’s, Harold O’Connor. I find working with metal to be truly fascinating and very rewarding.
I am one of the board members of the Colorado Metalsmithing Association and one of the founding members of Rocky Mountain Metalsmiths.
Working with metal has opened unlimited opportunities for learning, exploring, and creating. It is my firm belief that life is filled with continual learning experiences and that must be embraced. I strive to do this in all areas of my life.
I am blessed to share my life with my best friend and husband, Dan. He is my soul mate. We share our home with three, yes three, adorable basset hounds. Life with bassets is never dull and they are the most delightful companions and entertainers. We are members of the Basset Hound Club of America and find bassets to be a truly remarkable breed. There’s nothing like a hound!
My website is dedicated to the memory of my parents, Ed & Lorraine Schramm. My mother, who encouraged me to pursue art at an early age, and my father, who had a natural talent for creating beautiful landscapes. I keep both of you in my heart; you are deeply missed and loved.
Aspiring to be more as an artist and a person every day."
